Corporate Social Responsibilities2017-10-24T12:57:12+08:00

In this competitive society, most businesses focus either on price, level of quality or service as their competitive advantage neglecting the need of implementing Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). At Central Constructer, we tap on economical, environmental and social advantages and also emphasizes in community support, better brand identity, reducing of waste disposal and better employee working conditions. We are also incorporating Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Statement into design considerations.

Corporate Social Responsibility also known as Corporate Responsibility, Corporate Citizenship, Responsible Business, Sustainable Responsible Business (SRB) or Corporate Social Performance, is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model.

Today, people are conscious about good corporate behavior. A company’s reputation is one of its most valuable assets and CSR has become one of the key components of developing a good reputation. Positive CSR experiences build confidence and goodwill with stakeholders. Central Constructer has developed clear CSR which engage the involvement of our clients. (E.g. Environmental-Friendly Building Concepts)

Commitment to Making a Difference

Central Constructer encourages its staff to be environmental conscious and practice social responsibility. We hope to inspire others to do the same. Contribution to economic development by incorporating public interests into corporate decision-making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: “People, Planet and Profit”

Building a genuine culture of ‘doing the right thing’ within a corporation can offset corruption and environmental accidents. We have an ethical purchasing procedure that all suppliers and subcontractors must comply with. We are also integrating with Supplier, Manufacturer, Disposer and Recycler who are also environmental conscious. Engaging of third-party to carry out audits and take appropriate corrective actions is one of our practices.

We commit to operating in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner whilst balancing the interests of diverse stakeholders.

Our Initiatives of CSR

  • Implementing “Green Mark” ideas in initial stage of design planning. The BCA Green Mark Scheme was launched as an initiative to drive Singapore’s construction industry towards Environment-Friendly buildings. It is intended to raise environmental awareness to both House Owners and Builders when they start project conceptualization.
  • We recommend usage of gas water heater which is more Environmental-Friendly instead of electricity-powered water heater. Users are also paying lesser utility bills according to research performed by the National University of Singapore. (A gas water heater reduces carbon emission by 63% as compared to an electricity-powered one; Users saved up to 80% off their water-heating bill). Switching to gas water heater reduces carbon emissions and saves millions of trees.
  • “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” (3R-s) which was incorporated by the National Environmental Agency (NEA) are what we emphasize on when we carry out our projects which is geared towards environmental awareness, energy savings and sustainable living.
    Examples for 3R-s:

– Reduce the amount and toxicity of trash for discarding.
Reuse containers and products.
Recycle as much as possible, which includes buying products with recycled content.

  • Water-proofed marine ply woods were used in formworks erection as it is reusable and this helps to save trees.
  • Toxic wastes, such as paint, tires, cleaning products are collected by Toxic Waste Collector.
  • Empty plastic containers that stored chemical for water treatment equipment and metal drums for storing hazardous substances were returned to the Supplier for re-use.

Donation to National Kidney Foundation (NKF)

The NKF is a charitable organisation that provides dialysis treatment and rehabilitative care to kidney failure patients at affordable, subsidised rates. The NKF also provides health-screening and public education services to raise the community’s awareness on the importance of renal disease prevention.

Product Stewardship is a concept-cycle whereby everyone involved in the lifespan of the product is called upon to take up the responsibility of reducing its environmental, health, and safety impacts.

By redesigning products to use fewer harmful substances, to be more durable, re-useable and recyclable, and to make products (if possible) from recycled materials, we are working towards environment conservation. This also allows the end-of-life product’s debris to be less hazardous.

Central Constructer is committed to:

  • Fight climate changes
  • Optimise waste management
  • Preserve natural environment
  • Meet clients’ expectations
  • Promote workplace safety and health
  • Act as a responsible employer
  • Promote responsible sourcing
